Candidates need to be 7-12 certified and have passed Maine DOE background check. Specialities within each subject matter are negotiable. Moosabec Community School District / School Union #103 are located on the beautiful Bold Coast of Maine in the small commercial fishing communities of Jonesport and Beals Island. Our quaint area offers a welcomed retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life, with a combined two town population of about 1,700 people.

Moosabec Community School District / School Union #103 is seeking a part-time Superintendent of Schools who is a proven educational leader that demonstrates a commitment to educational excellence. Further qualifications for the position include, but are not limited to:

Effective collaboration and communication with the School Committee, staff, students, and the community about educational trends, curriculum needs, assessment and use of data, practical policy and regulation revision / development / presentation / implementation, and instructional programs
Preferred but not required, a background in Special Education
Outstanding and demonstrated leadership abilities
Hold strong aptitudes for continued development and support of school improvement, community relations, curriculum, and school finance / budgeting
Proven experience as a School and District Administrator
Commitment to / interest in the recruitment, retention, and support of high-quality educators
Must hold a Maine Department of Education Certification as a Superintendent (#010) or have the ability to attain

PreK-8) and a high school (grades 9-12) with a total enrollment across the three schools of approximately 220 students. Salary and benefits negotiated with the Board.

Position preferably starts no later than August 1, 2023.

Moosabec CSD and School Union No. 103 is seeking a candidate for the position of elementary and secondary music teacher.  This is a full-time position shared between three small schools with a total enrollment of 206 students.   Candidates must hold a valid Maine certificate or the ability to obtain one with appropriate endorsements.

Jonesport/Beals High School is seeking a unique teacher to serve as the industrial arts teacher. The teacher will be a certified high school teacher who also has extensive experience and/or industry credentials in carpentry. Additional experience in welding, small engine repair, or other vocational fields would be welcome. Students in our industrial arts program enjoy hands-on experience with a teacher dedicated to their success in and out of school.

Jonesport Elementary is seeking a special education teacher to work in their school. This is a one year only position. Candidates must hold a 282 certification or be eligible for certification. The teacher will perform a range of duties including direct instruction, writing IEP's, coordinating related services for students and supervision of educational technicians.
