Elementary School - Student Programs

A number of educational student programs have been installed on the elementary school servers. These programs are automatically served out to each client desktop (computer) in a folder named Application Explorer. The Application Explorer folder will load itself on the desktop of each computer when the student account is used to logon. You can acquire the student logon name and password at your school's office.

Windows XP
Make sure the Workstation Only checkbox (located lower left on the Novell  Client for Windows logon screen) is not checked. Type in the student logon name - press Tab. When the cursor shows up in the password box type in the password. Click OK.

Windows 98
Make sure the Workstation Only checkbox (located lower left on the Novell Client for Windows logon screen) is not checked. Type in the student logon name. Type in the password. Click Tree and select JES_TREE or BES_TREE. Click Context and select JES or BES. Click Server and select JESHOST or BESHOST. Click OK.

Look for a Application Explorer folder on the desktop. Double click the Application Explorer folder to open, double click JES_TREE or BES_TREE, double click STUDENT_GROUP.JES or STUDENT_GROUP.BES to access the student programs.

If you need help with this issue please fill out the technical assistance form on the Technology Department web page on the school's web site. We would be happy to sit down with you and go over the process.
